The Almighty

So I went to see The Almighty on Friday; I know people say that it's old cheesy rock but I didn't expect it to be like staring at a block of Tesco value extra mild cheddar cheese for a couple of hours!

We arrived not long after 8:15 and were faced with what we assumed was the support band, but then after 45 minutes we realised that what we thought was the support band was actually the main act! The Almighty ploughed through ten plus newer songs without even uttering much more than a few words between them. Five songs from the end though they seemed to spring in to life and actually mastered the art of audience interaction (such modern miricals)! Maybe it was embarrassment at the newer material, maybe it was their own self importance and delusions of grandeur that held them back, who knows, all I know is that I don't think I'll be see them play again unless it's free!

So to sum up all I know is I would have rather have spent the time playing chicken with cocktail sticks and my ear drums!

I got an invite to a new Social Networking Site called Pownce today, it seems to be a Twitter/Facebook/Instant Messaging hybrid!

I've just booked some tickets to see Tool at the Manchester Apollo in August, yay, but Ticketmaster fees are ridiculous, £4.25 per ticket and then there's delivery...

Delivery options where £2.75 for standard post, fair enough, but if you wanted them to email a PDF of the tickets for you to print out instead they still charge £2.75!

If they are going to charge me £2.75 they can put in some effort, so I'm having them posted, it must be such a strain on their servers to generate and email a PDF! :|
